Signs That You Need a New Boiler

A boiler system can last a really long time, longer than most heating systems. This is because boilers have fewer moving parts than most of the other heating system types on the market, which means fewer ways for things to go wrong. However, that still doesn’t mean that your boiler is going to last forever. Read on for some of the signs that you should install a new boiler system.

Loss of Output

There are many different reasons why your boiler may not be putting out as much head as it normally should. Sometimes, though, the answer is simply that your system is too worn out to do the job anymore. If the boiler is not heating the home very well at all, but everything seems to be working properly, call a professional and have them examine the system. You may just need to replace the whole thing.

Repairs

As mentioned above, boilers don’t need repairs as often as other heating system types on the market. The older and more worn out a boiler gets, though, the more likely it will be to develop problems. If your boiler is in need of repairs multiple times a year, you’re probably going to be much better off just replacing the entire thing. Otherwise, you’re just going to be spending significantly more money replacing the system one part at a time.

Age

Boilers tend to last between 20 and 25 years. You can theoretically keep a boiler system running well past that, but you’ll be throwing a lot of money away to do it. If your boiler is older than 25 years, call a professional and ask them if you need to replace it.
