What Is Zone Control?Zone control is a series of dampers, which are installed in the duct network throughout the house. There is one damper for each room, and each room has a thermostat installed that controls its corresponding damper. When the thermostat in a room detects that it needs heating or cooling, it opens the damper and turns on the appropriate system. The other dampers in the system will stay closed unless their thermostats also require heating or cooling.
Advantages of Zone ControlZone control systems offer a number of advantages. First, they make heating and air conditioning much more energy efficient. By being able to control which rooms receive air conditioning or heating, you can avoid wasting energy on rooms that don’t need it or are not in use. Second, zone control can ensure that each room can be set to its most comfortable climate without affecting the other rooms. This makes the home much more comfortable.
